From Entertainment Tonight: ET's KEVIN FRAZIER was backstage and on the red carpet for all the action at the "43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards," where the country world was abuzz over DOLLY PARTON's feud with HOWARD STERN, SHANIA TWAIN's break-up and NICOLE KIDMAN's baby bump! Last night Garth Brooks, Leann Rimes and Dr. Phil commented about Shania's split on the ACM Awards orange carpet.
Garth Brooks: "For all people who are getting divorced, there are 2 people you can talk to: God, and the person you're divorcing. Always talk, talk..."
Leann Rimes: "It's sad, it's very sad what they're going through... But they'll grow; both of them are strong people."
Dr. Phil: "She's strong, she's talented, she's gonna do great. I'm sad for what she's going through and I sure wish her well and I'll keep being a fan."

• 5/17/08 Bryan Adams On Shania Divorce. From USAWeekend.com: Just got off the phone with Canadian rocker Bryan Adams who has just released his eleventh album titled 11 and has been doing a big promotional push this week. Adams worked with producer Mutt Lange on several songs so I asked Adams if he'd heard today's news that Lange's 14-year-marriage to Shania Twain is over. He had, and said he was surprised to hear it, but noted that they may still be able to collaborate on music, which drew them together in the first place.

• 5/28/08 Twain's Heartbreaking Split. From Extra: Shania Twain is heartbroken as more details emerge about her recent split with husband Robert "Mutt" Lange. Reports say that Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a caretaker for the couple's Swiss home allegedly had an affair with Mutt, causing the billion-dollar breakup. Thiébaud became one of Twain's best friends during her time with the pair, and she and Lange both deny accusations of a relationship, reports People magazine. The "Still the One" singer and her son Eja, 6, have returned to their secluded cottage in Huntsville, Ontario -- which along with the Swiss chateau and a 60,000 acre spread in New Zealand -- is just part of a huge fortune set to be divided. Lange -- the man behind Def Leppard, Nickelback -- and Shania's success -- has made $500 million as one of the most successful music producers in history. Twain, having sold 60 million albums, has her own $450 million fortune. Sources close to Shania say that her legendary warmth and spirit will help her bounce back from this painful break.

A: Max, what's up with Shania Twain has been the permanent question of the week from folks like you for the last couple of years. There was hopeful word that Shania was close to releasing new music later this year. But late last week, Shania's spokesperson issued a brief statement that said that she and her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, have separated. Now, that is sad news for Shania, Mutt and their son, Eja. And it also affects Shania's musical career. After all, Mutt Lange has produced, helped write and sang background vocals on all of her hugely successful albums. The question is, did they complete enough new music together before the breakup that her career won't be hurt? Or, have their marriage difficulties held up any creative work for such a long time? Now that they've gone public with their personal problems, hopefully they'll let the world know how that has impacted Shania's recording career. We'll keep you posted.

Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.
